A GARDEN IN NORTH YORKSHIRE

his garden lies in a beautiful part of North Yorkshire with inspiring vistas of two historic sites and a stunning position. These were the natural assests I needed to embrace without incurring a heavy maintenance regime but still including some fine examples of old fashioned planting.

The ruins of an historic abbey creates an ever present vista.
A small potager leading to an orchard underplanted with spring bulbs.

Delphiniums and campanulas take centre stage.

Ferns growing in and around the stone bridge in damp and cool conditions.
